But we finally figured it out --- and he had his first match. (It didn't go well) Later we found out the "novice" he was wrestling was the coaches son, and considerably better than the other 10 year old novice kids.

The next two bouts went much better -- winning both by decision (points).


And, as luck would have it, the kid who beat Zander in the first bout lost his second (now they are both in the loser's bracket), and they had to wrestle again for third and fourth place.
While he did beat Zander again, it was by a much smaller margin -- and I think Zander learned alot. Although, to hear Zander tell it -- the kid repeatedly grabbed his junk. So I told Zander "Remember that kid, and that pain at the next bout". We'll see :)

And (while I'm not sure she'd admit it) -- I think Zoe is proud of him too!
