This is SOOOOO much fun...

OK, just a short update tonight, it is late -- my battery is dying, and I am tired... But as I mentioned yesterday, about the ad hoc feel (as we randomly roamed the track) -- anyhoo...

Guess what we got to do today!!!!! OH HELLS YEAH... We rode the track!

This is me hitting the corkscrew turns (three turns named: First Attitude, Second Attitude, and Bad Attitude)... this was Bad AttitudeHere is Ward in the same turns (sadly, he is a better camerman than I -- so his picture is not as spectacular). Here he is just goofin' on the hillThe bike sittin' on the "Alligators"...And duh... I had to get stupid and play around in the parking lot too... :)
Also... a few of Chris' ridin' buddies for Colorado showed up too... there was Mike (Bash), Scott, and Chrissy... and hey, since they were here with nothing else to do, they rebuilt a carburator on one of the twins. (why not)

Chrissy is the smart one, she just enjoyed the sun and racin'And finally, since you all saw neighbors Desmo and Kug... this is the other neighbor Kylie... on her VERY NICE R6.Welp, tomorrow is the last day of racin', then we have the FUN, return, high-country run back to Colorado Springs...

More from the road...

Ward and I Picked Up a Set of Twins!!!

Look what I picked up... I know... totally impulsive, utterly impractical, and yet --- so much fun!

Well, I guess I could say "The Devil me do it."

(Incidentally --- those are the names of turns --- and Yes... we were strolling across the track. Apparently, not a whole lot of rules out here)

A couple more shots of the twins...

*** insert your favorite Trailer Trash joke here: ______________________***

Sadly --- our "external, solar" coffee doesn't heat it very well.... but Joe didn't seem to mind.

And, as we were having another great breakfast (Ward makes sausage/egg/potato scramble burritos)... this dude dumped his bike right in front of us. Bummer...

Well, that's all for now... its noon and ABSOLUTELY beautiful out here --- the races are about to start --- more later.

Day 3 -- So THAT'S Why We Are Here

That's right... the race! Well, it started today --- we awoke at 8AM to the sounds of 600cc SuperBikes practicing, and now we are off and running... Something just SOOOOOO cool about these guys (and a few chicks) layin down this bikes with this beautiful background...

And, while we have a PRIMO spot for the trailer --- right on the track --- there is a 4-foot safety barrier, which we really cannot see over. Unless...

But before the the races we took a stroll over to the Paddock for the Goings-On -- and I even checked out a few bikes...

This is the "Official SuperBike" car... and oddly, you cannot even buy it in America.

HONDA!!!!

They also had a "stunt" show...

At the track...And the weirdest thing happened...

We were walking along, and these three chicks said "Hey... we want to get a picture with YOU!!!" No... really, that ALMOST always happens to me...

And here are some of the test rides...

And here I am on the 'busa --- may as well go ahead and plan the funeral...And here is Ward on the 70... I think it may be a bit small for him...

And... here is the bike Zoe wants...

Oh... by the way... Did I tell you I love Corona?

I mean... I REALLY love Corona...

OK... I got nothin' here...
Time for another beer... more tomorrow.

Day 2 -- Part 2 ... Did I tell you, I hate WYOMING

Alright, so where were we??? Ah yes, Denver… and heading points North;
We cruised right pass the smoggy, downtown skyline, and Invesco Stadium (ne… Mile-High Stadium)

Just outside of Denver we stopped for lunch (10:30AM??? apparently Ward is a new-born, cuz he seems to need to eat every thirty minutes. We had breakfast before leaving Colorado Springs at 9AM, and at 10:30 we were at Carls Jr for burgers. Anyway… after washing down my tasty burger, I felt man enuf to take The Helm, and for the next 100 miles I piloted the Ody and the Hog north into Wyoming.
Now… I KNEW my normally fuel-efficient Ody would take a hit due to:
1. Pulling the Hog
2. Being in the mountains (for those non-physics majors: thinner air = worse combustion)
Well, add in 40-50mph head/cross winds in the high-country of Wyoming, and we went through a tank in 114 miles!!!!! UGH!!!!

Welcome to Wyoming... state motto "Sorry We Suck"

But it was kind of funny stopping at the ONLY gas station for miles in Buford. That has to be one lonely dude (but he does have a Corvette).
We crossed the Continental divide at Table Rock Wyoming… all down hill from there -- but I gotta tell ya... there is NOTHING in Wyoming. I think there are more people in Tonganoxie than in ALL of Wyoming. Now, granted -- there are mountains here --- but it is not like we are in canyons the whole time... but NOT ONLY did our wireless phones not work...but XM Satellite Radio didn't even work?!?!?! WTF!!!!! This is like a cosmic black-whole where the world of electronics simply do not work! But there were some rather beautiful sites...

OK --- so this is Elk Mountain --- a beautiful mountain, the only problem is that we were traveling at 65 mph in a ONE-LANE construction zone...
So, I just hung out the sunroof facing the 50+ mph head wind --- an aggregate 100+ mph wind, and Ward snapped this pix with his phone:

And here are a few other nice pix...

But, alas --- we finally made it... approximately 8:30PM... and had the set up and grill going within an hourle of beer and a nice sandwich....

And now, we are now enjoying a beer with a couple of guys who had the foresight to bring a fire pit (it's about 50 degrees here in the mountains). Left to right... this is Mental, The Kug, and Desmo (aka Ducati)...

More to come tomorrow....

Oh, I almost forgot... and we got a mascot... his name is "Jo", and he is addicted to caffeine...

Day 2... Once my sphincter relaxed, we were good to go...

OK... just to let you know --- I am currently sitting in the passenger seat, cruising through Denver as I update this... I hadn't planned a morning update, the the way the day started -- I figured it was worth it.

First the good... here is the view of Pike's Peak that I woke up to (or, from pretty much anywhere in Colorado Springs for that matter).

And now...the bad... Did I mention this is a BIG-DAMN trailer?

Well -- it is nothing the Honda can't handle (or so says the owner's manual) --- but that didn't relax me in the least. Nor did it when we started having to uhh.... "alter" (fabricate, enhance, engineer -- all used in the LOOSEST since of the word) the hook-up connections...

So ... Mental put some thought into it...

and decided what needed to be done...
All while I paced, drank coffee, and worried like an old bitch. But it worked... and we were off

Please join Vicky in praying for us...

As I mentioned ... we are now cruising (now we are almost 100 miles down the road) --- and the Oddy is running like a champ! Gotta love it...

More to come.
