Take your child to work day

Zoe and Zander got to see what it was like in the real work force.

Zander went with Daron to Embarq for the day ....

... and Zoe joined grandma Kathy at the VFW office.

Zander attended Daron's team meeting and some customer meetings. Since he attended meetings, Zander dressed in a nice suit like his father. Embarq had some additional activities for the visiting kids which Zander attended. In these activities they learned about computers and Embarq. Then the kids were tasked to help out the Embarq sponsored retirement community by creating cards. Zander helped out with this and had a really good time. When he came home I got to see his temporary badge (made special for him) and other neat little items he received during the day.

At VFW, Zoe was quickly put to work with the other visiting kids. They were active in collecting printouts...

stuffing envelops and stamping check dates,
and assisting on the PC.

After their day was done, each of the girls received a certificate of appreciation thanking them for all the help.
Both kids had a unique experience and enjoyed themselves. They did miss a 1/2 day at school but learned a lot about the workforce and became more aware of the busy lives of dad and grandma.

I love how D and Zander dress the same. Glad the kids had fun.

I wish I could have this kind of good help! Zoe, Grama really enjoyed having you at work with her.

Zoe was so much help - too bad she can't come one day a week!
