With 7 women and lots of wine, a good time was going to happen. To all that haven't heard, some of the ladies in the family decided to take a trip to the Hermann, Missouri Wine country. But before we even started sampling local vineyards, we had a few bottles among family. After arriving between 4:30 and 6 pm on Friday evening, we celebrated as any family would with wine and champagne. :-) A few of us even hit the hot tub for a break too. Well, when morning came, some of us remembered the evening with a little headache. But, we had an excellent breakfast and then headed out to the vineyards. The first stop was Adam Puchta, my favorite vineyard in the area. Since we were one of the first visitors, we sorta had the place to ourselves. There were several wines that they had us sample along with the a food sample to accent the flavor of the wine. Although we enjoyed the wines, Jill and I were the only two that splurged and got a few bottles. The next stop was Stone Hill where a few of us took the tour before joining the group for the wine tasting. After Stone Hill we hit Hermannhof Winery where some of us checked out the cellars and, of course, all tasted the wines. Kathy was wonderful and treated us all to some wine when she bought a case. We had all liked the Germantown wine so we each received a nice gift from Kathy. Thanks Kathy!!!!! Since we were starting to feel the wine again, we all decided to grab a bite. A few of us went German fest food while others had some nice deli sandwiches. We checked out the small fest tents before heading out to the next two vineyard. Although we did try the wines and beer (one was a brewery), we were not interested in the flavors and didn't buy. The evening ended a bit earlier as we were a bit wined out. Can you believe it? We had hit FULL? So, we had a light evening of dinner and good company. The next morning we had yet another great breakfast and everyone headed off their separate ways. Overall, we had a great time with the company, atmosphere, and wines.
