School Events

The kids had their Holiday performance. Zoe had a night performance with the Singing Stallions. She joined the choir group as an extracurricular activity. It requires her to be at school an hour early every Thursday. They have performed at many different events in the local area as well as on a local televised show. This evening was dedicated to Holiday Cheer. Then on Friday, the school had a holiday assembly. They had each grade perform a holiday song. There was some really cute performances by all grades. Here are some pictures from the events. Enjoy!

Holiday Fun

We got Elfed - Check us out. http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=1634654519

While preparing for the holidays, we decided to make Holiday cookies for family and friends. I had the kids step in and help out with some of the work. Somehow I got stuck with all the dishes though. Funny how that works out. Here was a few of their tough tasks.
Zander helped with mashing the cookie batter for the truffles. Both kids had to take the hershey's kisses wrap off and press them into the peanut butter cookies. And the spread was complete with peanut butter kisses, truffles, and cream cheese spritz cookies. Happy Holidays everyone.

School Projects

Zander's project for school. He had to show several different land forms and create his own island. We used only items from the house such as brown clay, sandpaper, styrofoam, and other weird items. He also plant life from the yard too to give it a rockie edge and shrubbery. Way cool and a solid A+ for the boy.

October Days

We have been spending our October weekends watching our local Titans and Bearcats play some football and cheering them on.

The Titans are currently 3 and 3 on wins and losses. They had 1 shutout game and have really been playing hard. Zander had a few sacks on the quarterback and helped the offensive line hold back the other team so our quarterback could get some good throws in. We start our tournament this weekend.
The Bearcats are 2 and 5, wins and losses, respectively. They have another game this weekend where the girls may perform a dance routine at half time. They have been practicing really hard and look really good. They will be performing with all the cheerleaders on November 3rd at Lees Summit North High School stadium under the lights for the 7th grade championship. It will be alot of fun.
Here are some more pictures of the kids in action. Note Zander is "10" - not as easy to get him as it is Zoe. :-)

The games are over for the day and it is time to rest.

October Weddings

Welcome to the family John and Wes!!!!
Chicagoland was a bustle of wedding folks on October 13th. Our family alone had two weddings. While we were not able to attend both (fyi - city is big), we captured pictures from both to share. After the rehearsals, families and friends gathered enjoy the rehearsal dinner. Both families were wonderful and invited guest traveling to join in the rehearsal dinner too. Everyone was able to chat with old friends and family and meet new ones too. Since Chicago is the land of deep dish pizza, our engaged couples were smart and took everyone out to taste the cuisine: Gino's East for Kim and Wes, Lou Malnati's for Megg and John. Check out the food and fun.

Wedding time!!! Both Megg and Kim looked beautiful in their dresses. Too late boys, these girls are taken. :-)

And now the dancing shall commence: First our new couples dance...

A toast to the new couples!!!

Lots of friends and family shared the moments with Meggan, Kimberly, Wes, and John. Congratulations to the new Wes and Howenstine families.

Special thanks to Aimee, Megg, Kim, and Kathy for sharing their pictures for the blog!!!
